Anna Maria Guglielmetti with "Come per me sereno" from La Sonnambula
Anna Maria Guglielmetti, born 1895, died 1982. In 1920 she sang Leila in the Pearlfishers in Ravenna and began a successful career in Italy. She sang in the USA, Naples, Turin, Verona, Barcelona, Ostende, Switzerland, Germany and London. After losing her voice she studied again with Giuseppina Finzi-Magrini in Turin. She married the Swiss impresario Henri Giovanna and they settled in Geneva. She sang here and also made guest appearances in Paris and Berlin. From 1946-75 she taught at the academy of music in Geneva.

Niels Hansen and Lohengrin
Niels Hansen, tenor. Born 1880 in Denmark. Studied as an artist but turned to singing and trained with Valdemar Lincke in Copenhagen. He then went to Paris and studied with Jean de Reszke (1911-12)! He made his debut in Copenhagen as Rodolfo in 1909 and stayed in this house for 40 years. His roles included Manrico, Alfredo, Radames, Lohengrin, Canio, Cavaradossi, Pinkerton, Florestan and Lensky. He was also highly regarded as an oratorio and concert singer. Lauritz Melchior was his understudy at Copenhagen Opera!
